Abstract

This present revision introduces a new method for selecting illuminance values for design purposes and recognizes the many new office tasks and trends in office operations and layouts. It also incorporates extensive materials relating to energy management and the design and operation of lighting systems. The text is divided into the following chapters: Introduction; Office tasks; Design process; Lighting criteria for visual performance and comfort; Luminous environmental factors; The lighting system; Lighting of areas; Energy Management; Emergency lighting; Safety; End user responsibility-maintenance. An appendix presents a method for presenting illumination.
