Observability of lag synchronization of coupled chaotic oscillators

Abstract

Two coupled, nonidentical chaotic oscillators are investigated based on lag synchronization, a phenomena where dynamical variables of these oscillators are synchronized with a time delay relative to each other. It is shown up to what extent this lag synchronization can be observed in physical systems in the presence of noise. This synchronization is destroyed when the noise level is comparable to the amount of average system mismatch.
