Abstract
In large-Nc QCD, the masses and widths of excited baryons was shown to form multiplets of states with degenerate masses and widths labeled by K. The quantum numbers of states in these multiplet were given. Simple quark models describing the lowest-lying excited baryons as single-quark excitations reproduce the same pattern of degenerate multiplets in the large-Nc limit as that seen directly in large-Nc QCD.
