Nanotribology responses and their connection to molecular conformations

Abstract

The influence of molecular conformations on tribological responses is explored using three parallel approaches. Dielectric measurement of fluids confined within molecularly-thin films is also presented. Finally, the effect of long-chain polymeric additives when immersed in a solution of smaller molecules is studied.
