Abstract
Pulsed laser velocimetry of fluid motion requires fast methods of measuring from photographic records the displacement vectors of fine particles at many points in the flow. One-dimensional interrogation of the image fields can be accomplished by compressing the two-dimensional field onto two orthogonal, one-dimensional arrays of sensors. This paper examines the accuracy of measurements accomplished by autocorrelation analysis of the one-dimensional images.
