Abstract

This paper describes the design and testing of a short-pulse microwave radar system which is simple both in design and operation. The radar can be used for measuring with accuracy targets which are very near the measurement system. A very simple step-recovery diode circuit is used to generate the radar pulses. Experimental testing has been conducted in the laboratory using metal and limestone targets.
