Abstract
Magnetoconductance oscillations that are periodic in h e, and universal conductance fluctuations, have been observed in samples which are large compared to the inelastic mean free path, but in which the quasi-two dimensional electrons have been subjected to a two-dimensional periodic potential imposed electrostatically by a grid gate, fabricated by electron beam lithography with a periodicity of approximately 160 nm. The oscillations were observed in both GaAs/GaAlAs and InGaAs/GaAs heterojunction structures. The fluctuations and Aharonov-Bohm type oscillations are seen in a magnetic field range B<1 tesla.
