Abstract

This paper describes Memphis State University's multidisciplinary program for integrating the study of expert systems and artificial intelligence in accounting. The program is offered by the School of Accountancy and the Institute for Intelligent Systems, which is comprised of members of the departments of Psychology, Mathematical Science (Computer Science), Philosophy, and Physics. This paper discusses the philosophy underlying the program and the different objectives for masters and doctoral students. The courses that are available are described and biographical information about the faculty involved in the program is also provided.
