Abstract

The cell fusion induced by inactivated Sendai virus and live paramyxo- and herpes-viruses was inhibited by local anaesthetics (dibucaine, tetracaine, cocaine, lignocaine and procaine) and by phenothiazine-type tranquillizers (trifluoperazine, fluphenazine, promethazine, chlorpromazine and diphenhydramine).
