Abstract

Numerous news stories on gun violence are being reported on the Web. Instances of mass shootings and crimes involving firearms have become common. Social media and various websites are a source of information on this. This paper focuses on using Semantic Web analysis on data retrieved online from various sources on gun violence and to track and analyze gun violence to provide a concise report on the magnitude of its effects. This paper organizes the data to make it more usable, readable, and understandable. Users will be able to track and analyze the gun violence data using a map view of the states with various details including the type of guns used, the number of victims that got injured and killed, the gender of the victims, and the incident details. This tracking system helps users create awareness of which area or state has more gun violence and be alert.
