Abstract

The folded loop mounted vertically on a conducting box with and without a dielectric coating is a new antenna intended to simulate a handheld portable telephone. The antenna element is mounted on a conducting box and is centered in the x and y directions. It is fed on the left side by a coaxial cable and short-circuited to the box on the right side. The radiation patterns and input impedance are determined by computer simulations based upon the FDTD and verified with measurements and computations performed using NEC.
