N2 - A 4p-4h state near 20.8 MeV in 16O, populated by the 12C(6Li,d) 16O and 12C(7Li,t) 16O reactions, is found to have a high spin value. It is suggested to be the Jπ = 8+ member of the first even-parity rotational band.
