Abstract

The flow pattern of the northern hemisphere shifted from a zonal to a meridional configuration in the early 1950's. Utilizes a set of multivariate statistical techniques to develop regions that display homogeneous climatic responses to this change in the circulation system. The characteristics of the major climatic change regions are associated with their locations relative to upper-level wave features that developed during the period of meridional flow.-from Author
