ASTM international standards for photovoltaics the foundation of qualification standards

    Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

    Abstract

The standards developed ASTM International Subcommittee E44.09 on Photovoltaic Electric Power Conversion have emerged as the basis for the development of qualification standards by other national and international standards organizations. Subcommittee E44.09 has formulated 23 active standards that have become a foundation for the development of photovoltaic qualification standards by other standards organizations. These photovoltaic qualitative standards also serve as a set of well-defined, accelerated stress test, with strict pass and fail criteria that is developed by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the International Electrochemical Commission, and Underwriters Laboratories. The qualification standards are also being used by the industry for introducing procurement specifications.
