Project Details

Description

Scaling equitable paths to an AA by grade 13 through ASU Scaling equitable paths to an AA by grade 13 through ASU Kim Merritt, Sukhwant Jhaj, Patrick Rossol-Allison, Derrick Anderson, and Jacqueline Smith have closely collaborated under the guidance of Maria Anguiano and Nancy Gonzales to develop a $2M/2 years proposal to create an associate degree by grade 13 (AAx13). The Associate of Arts degree with disciplinary focus in areas of Technical Communication, Management Science and Organizational Leadership will fully integrate with ASUs bachelors degree offerings and provide an alternative postsecondary onramp for learners that the traditional education system cannot or will not serve. The invitation from the Gates Foundation was a direct result from a joint Learning Enterprise-ASUF-Prep Digital engagement with Gates Foundation President Alan Golston in December 2020. The collaboration between the Learning Enterprise and University College aims to be one of many between the Academic and Learning Enterprise, modeling how to share responsibilities related to learner support services and curricular innovation.
