Property, People, and Progress Along Frontiers: How Land Policy Affects Selection and Outcomes Property, People, and Progress Along Frontiers: How Land Policy Affects Selection and Outcomes As part of the proposed research, inputs from researchers at Arizona State University will contribute to all three research activities. Co-PI Leonard will contribute through to data collection (primarily GIS), analysis, academic writing, and education efforts, drawing on his expansive knowledge of PLSS GIS data and land patent data. Funds requested will support his effort as well as travel and equipment. In addition, as appropriate and conducive to the research project Leonard will take part in analyzing the data and writing up suitable manuscripts. Finally, Leonard will from time-to-time travel profession conferences to present research outputs as they are produced and solicit feedback on those results and other lines of inquiry. In summary, Leonard will work to: 1. Compile and manage data sets for research activity 1 2. Lead analysis for research activities 2 and 3 3. Present findings related to research activities 1 through 3 4. Contribute to analysis and manuscripts related to research activities 1 through 3
