Music & Memory 2018, The Phoenix Symphony ADRD Project Music & Memory 2018, The Phoenix Symphony ADRD Project The specific aims are: 1) Identify a long term care (LTC) setting with ADRD residents with an average level of activities and related resources for people with dementia that distinguishes itself from the other two facilities (one with a high level and one with a low level) in the prior pilot studies. 2) Deliver the community-level music-based intervention protocol in the LTC setting identified in Specific Aim 1. 3) Examine the feasibility/acceptability of the music-based intervention protocol in the LTC setting identified in Specific Aim 1. 4) Explore quantitatively the impact of the intervention on participant outcomes (e.g., mood, stress, behavior, biomarkers of stress, perceived benefit). 5) Explore qualitatively the impact of the intervention on participant outcomes (e.g., system change); and expand that exploration through involvement of people with design, humanities, and other arts backgrounds. 6) Provide a final report on the project that incorporates both quantitative and qualitative findings.
