Description
Mohawk Valley Regeneration Study Mohawk Valley Regeneration Study This is a proposal to perform research on the potential regeneration of granular activated carbon (GAC) using novel, non-thermal, in-situ methods to reduce long-term operational costs of GAC facilities. Specifically, it addresses the removal of DBP precursors (as measured by DOC and UV254) by virgin and regenerated GAC. The focus of this work is on two chemical methods of spent GAC regeneration (iron NP + persulfate; sodium percarbonate). If successful, a second phase of work would be developed as an add-on project.
