Analyzing the Diversity and Impacts of Farmers Markets Managed by Organizations Analyzing the Diversity and Impacts of Farmers Markets Managed by Organizations The proposed research seeks identify, synthesize, and disseminate information on common practices and strategies used by long-running farmers markets managed by organizations and farmers market umbrella organizations. The specific objectives are: Create a preliminary typology of organizations that manage farmers markets across the country, documenting varied organizational structures; Identify the range of activities that organizations that manage farmers markets undertake in support of their producers; Evaluate the benefits and disadvantages of farmer participation in farmers markets managed by organizations; and, Explore organizations definitions of success related to the farmers markets they manage and the work that they undertake.
