Description

Advancing Opportunity Expanding Impact Program (ASUF 30007230) Advancing Opportunity Initiative 2016-2017 The ASU Lodestar Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Innovation will increase the participation and retention of young men between the ages of 18-24 in the Arizona program, especially African American and Latino men who are disconnected from school or jobs, by 15%. Additionally, the Center will help to ensure they are on a pathway to educational and career opportunities upon completion of the program. To achieve these goals, the Center will create promotional materials and distribute to community organizations who work with primarily young men of color between the ages of 18 24. The Center will hold additional recruiting and outreach events at local schools, youth serving organizations and will hold presentations to community members who engage in work with young people of color. Outreach will include youth participants, youth mentors and those community members who can refer young men of color to the program.
