Research interests

My primary area of research is data management systems. The focus of my research is two-fold: advancing database systems to respond to requirements of multiple emerging applications, and extending fundamental concepts of database systems to new data management platforms. My specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to: social data analysis, cyberbullying identification, similarity-aware data analysis, query processing and optimization, big data analytics, privacy assurance in databases, and scientific database systems.
