Abstract
Identification of individuals on the basis of facial features is the most natural method of distinguishing one individual from another. In this paper, we propose novel histogram and wavelet-histogram methods as means of identifying individuals in a mugshot application. We note that these methods are suitable for real time implementation and provide a high degree of tolerance towards facial expression changes.
