Abstract

Sprayed 'IN PLACE' polyurethane foam (PUF) roof systems have been installed since the early 1960's. The lack of clear systems definition and requirements based on field performance of 'successful' (20 year service life) PUF roofs, and an unbiased database of PUF roof failures and successes have resulted in the continuing unpredictability of PUF roof performance. The objective of this study is to define the PUF roof system, performance requirements and component requirements. The results will be used to define the PUF roof system performance criteria.
