Abstract
A unified method for postbuckling analysis of trusses subjected to large deformations has been developed. Geometric and material nonlinearities are taken into account. The analysis is carried by solving the nonlinear equilibrium equations directedly using Newton-Raphson and the modified Newton-Raphson methods. The numerical results indicate that geometric and material nonlinear response is indeed significant.
