Abstract
The various aspects of multimedia digital divide are discussed. One of the key requirements in bridging this divide is to address media-related challenges in the problems, keeping in mind both the technological advances and the social implications and societal impact. An investigation involving the application targeted for the visual and hearing impaired that challenges the concept of ubiquity was carried at the center for Ubiquitous Computing at Arizona State University. This application illustrated the power of ubiquitous media by responding to the needs of a population or consumer base that doesn't have access to visual media.
