Abstract
Two software technologies, software reusability and Internet computing, and their impacts on software development are presented. Software reusability can significantly improve software productivity while Internet computing provides a new testbed for software applications as well as their development. Programming-in-the-large will gradually become programming-in-the-small with the use of components, architecture, object-oriented frameworks, dynamic software evolution, standardized interfaces, and patterns such as Broker and Observer patterns, are used at every stage of the software development.
