Abstract
The transient stability of a NbTi, cable-in-conduit conductor cooled by supercritical helium was experimentally investigated by inductively heating the conductor for short time durations. Analysis was carried out by deriving a heat transfer coefficient, having transient and quasi-steady state components, which is shown to be consistent with heat transfer data.
