Abstract

This protocol provides the information necessary to experimentally test rodents on the visible platform task, which assesses competence to perform a water escape task. Apparatus setup, step-by-step test procedures, and performance quantification procedures are specified, detailed, and discussed. Examples of peer- reviewed published research literature using these procedures are also provided.
