Abstract
The Q2e(2) rotational line in the (0, 0) band of the A2Δ-X2Π transition of CH in the gas phase was recorded at sub-Doppler resolution as a function of a dc electric field, using the technique of intermodulated fluorescence. The permanent electric dipole moment, μ, for the A2Δ state was determined to be 0.77 ± 0.07 Debye. The experimentally determined value is compared with theoretical estimates.
