Abstract

Some of the basic steps one should follow when considering writing a text book are outlined. Considerations in the selection of a topic, publisher, editor, contract, completion of manuscript and book production are discussed. Most of the material and examples are drawn from my own experience in writing two text books and subsequent four revisions.
