Abstract

The results of the ASCE Hydraulics Division Task Committee on Reliability Analysis of Water Distribution Systems are summarized in a very comprehensive report entitled ″Reliability Analysis of Water Distribution Systems.″ This committee has developed several new methodologies for the reliability analysis of water distribution systems that are summarized in the report. Topics include network simulation models, water distribution optimization models, failure of distribution system components, data base management, component replacement/rehabilitation analysis, reliability based optimization models, and frequency-duration analysis for water supply systems. New methodologies that have been recently developed or are in development are discussed in detail in the report.
