Abstract
The tangent double Hopf bifurcation in a differently rotating cylinder flow was analyzed. The codimension-3 tangent double Hopf point was located by using linear stability analysis. It was found that, at the tangent double Hopf point, two rotating waves and an unstable modulated rotating wave bifurcate simultaneously.
