Stochastic mirage phenomenon and scintillations in EM wave propagation through atmospheric turbulence

Abstract

We present results that capture the mirage phenomenon in random atmospheric media. We also derive from the Helmholtz equation an effective equation that describes wave effects due to stochastic medium fluctuations.
