Abstract

This paper gives a rigorous approach for state estimation of 15kV Cross linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulated distribution cable. New cable samples have been aged for different times in the laboratory using recently established accelerated procedure. Electrical breakdown voltage and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) are established as tools for state estimation. Analysis of Variance and Regression analysis are performed to quantify the significance and sensitivity of both the parameters.
