Abstract

Tunneling effects in solid-state physics are frequently described via a quantum mechanical formulation based on the Wigner Distribution Function. In this paper a mixed finite-difference-spectral-collocation method for the solution of the corresponding equation of motion is developed and analyzed. Numerical examples illustrating the convergence results are presented.
