Abstract

A spectral collocation method for the Wigner-Poisson system is presented, a nonlinear pseudodifferential system describing quantum mechanical transport phenomena. The stability and consistency properties of the method are analyzed. Spectral accuracy and linearized stability are proven. A numerical test example illustrating these results is presented.
