Abstract

The design of a smart antenna and an efficient adaptive algorithm for beamforming and direction of arrival (DOA) estimation was presented. The performance of the Eigensubspace Projection Algorithm (EPA) and the Least Mean Squared (LMS) algorithm were compared with each other. The study aimed at designing an antenna that directed the maximum radiation of the antenna pattern toward the signal-of-interest (SOI) and placed nulls toward the signal-not-of-interest (SNOI).
