Significant increase of photoluminescence lifetime at 1.5 μm in erbium chloride silicate nanowires

Abstract

Dramatic increase of photoluminescence lifetime in erbium chloride silicate nanowires is achieved by optimizing growth conditions. Lifetime of 540 μs represents the best figure of merit in terms of product of erbium-density and lifetime.
