Abstract

Written in a field guide format, the paper first describes the geographic and geologic setting of the Colorado river and the morphologic divisions of the Grand Canyon. The highlights of the following side canyons are then discussed: North Canyon; Nautiloid Canyon; Buck Farm Canyon; Carbon Canyon; Monument Creek; Blacktail Canyon; Tapeats Creek; and Havasu Creek. -S.J.Stone
