Abstract

Organizational decision making often involves multiple groups developing alternative 'what-if' and negotiation scenarios. We characterize the necessary database support and propose version management. An extension of Independently Updated Views (IUVs) is described that supports multiple versions, change propagation across versions, and version hierarchies. We give the SQL implementation and a comprehensive example for a negotiation process.
