Abstract

This paper summarizes the results of a Risk Analysis study conducted in Bellcore to assess the reliability of potential AIN architectures for deployment. The Risk Analysis (RA) approach used in this study involves the identification of potential failure scenarios that can cause service disruptions in the network, the estimation of the likelihood of occurrence of the failure scenarios, the quantification of the damage that can be caused by the failures and the analysis of the risk associated with different modification of network design.
