RHODES to intelligent transportation systems

Abstract

The development of real-time hierarchical optimized distributed effective system (RHODES) is discussed. RHODES was developed by advanced traffic and logistics algorithms and systems (ATLAS) to help fulfil the premises of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). RHODES is expected to play a major role in the realization of future advanced traffic management systems (ATMS). It is stated that traffic management and advisories will ensure that vehicles in the network have the smoothest, safest, and most efficient ride from their origin to their destination.
