    Abstract

The existence of a quasi fluid state of very small metal particles at high temperatures was the quintessential result of high‐resolution electron‐microscopic video recordings of Ru microcrystals, which form from [Ru55(PtBu3)12Cl20] upon bombardment with electrons. The HREM video recording of a 3‐nm Ru crystal (picture at right) shows that both cubic and hexagonal close‐packed structures exist simultaneously in the same crystal. (Figure Presented.)
