R-matrix propagation methods in inelastic and reactive collisions

Abstract

The recently developed R-matrix propagation method for solution of the coupled linear differential equations of quantum scattering theory is briefly reviewed. The adaptations of the method to handle simple inelastic scattering problems in a fixed internal basis, atom-molecule reaction scattering using reaction coordinates and a varying internal basis, and change transfer using nonorthogonal coordinates and an atom-centered nonorthogonal basis are described.
