Abstract
The various concepts, tools and methodologies associated with the design and manufacture of high-quality products are reviewed. The different definitions of product quality are also presented. The use of quality function deployment to ensure that quality issues are dealt with proactively during the conceptual design stage is demonstrated. Some of the basic tools and concepts in reliability analysis are also discussed.
