Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the calculation of locational marginal prices in electric power systems. The use of quadratic programming for the calculation is proposed and illustrated. The calculation of locational process in distribution engineering is conjectured and discussed. Alternatives for the calculation are presented, and approximations are reviewed.
