Abstract

In this paper, we present our progress towards protein identification and quantification with single cell sensitivity using the hyphenation of a microfluidic platform and MALDI mass spectrometry. In our previous approach, we estimated a sensitivity in the range of high abundant proteins in single cells (∼106 protein molecules) [1]. Here, we extend these preliminary studies to achieve a true quantitative approach via identification and isotope tagging of the apoptosis marker Bcl-2.
