Abstract

This paper provides information about the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the proposal/grant process with a focus on the electric power engineering area. It includes organizational information about NSF, the various special programs, current data and statistics, information about proposal preparation and the review process, and mechanisms for obtaining NSF publications. The organizational and budgetary information is based on the Fiscal Year (FY) 1993 (October 1, 1992 - September 30, 1993). This paper was written for distribution in March 1994.
