Abstract
The paradidm shift from oppresive to affirmative psychotherapy for lesbian women and gay men is well under way in the clinical world. The challenge for both practitioners and researchers is to guide the development of affirmative models by evaluating their effectiveness. In this article, the author discusses the potential utility of single-system designs in terms of their methodological advantages in clinical research and their fit with affirmative practice.
