Abstract
An autonomous solar pumping system, using low temperature Organic Rankine Cycle, and a piston engine coupled to flat plate solar collectors through a Boiler and Condenser on one side and to a reciprocating water pump (through a belt transmission) on the other side, has been mathematically modeled. The system is described here and predicted results are compared with observed test data on an actual installation at Auroville (12 degree N, 71 degree E), India.
